Our Technologies
MASA (Modern Art of Syria Archive) is an Atassi Foundation initiative dedicated to documenting and sharing Syria's artistic heritage. Its bilingual digital platform brings archival records, publications, and supporting documents together for researchers, art enthusiasts, and the wider public.
SheenValue delivered the UI/UX design and Next.js website, alongside the deployment and integration of CollectiveAccess for archive management. The result connects public discovery with the foundation's work of organizing and presenting its collection.
A digital archive must do more than display documents: it needs to help visitors find relevant material, understand each record, and explore its supporting resources. MASA brings this approach to the Atassi Foundation's archive of Syrian art, offering access through Arabic and English interfaces.
The foundation needed to present a varied collection of archival records and publications through a clear browsing experience. The project required a public website that could support both focused research and open-ended exploration, while connecting to a dedicated system for cataloguing and managing the archive.
SheenValue designed the user interface and experience and developed the website using Next.js. Organized archive browsing, search, and filtering help visitors navigate the collection, while detailed record pages bring archival information and associated documents together.
We also deployed CollectiveAccess and integrated it with the website. This connects the public-facing experience to a specialized archive-management platform, giving the foundation a structured foundation for maintaining its collection and presenting it online.
The platform combines a custom Next.js website with CollectiveAccess as the archive-management backend. Each layer serves a distinct purpose: the website shapes the visitor experience, while CollectiveAccess supports the organization of archival records. Their integration links these complementary needs within one digital platform.
MASA gives researchers and the public a central place to discover and explore Syrian artistic heritage. For the Atassi Foundation, it provides a connected approach to archive management and public access, supporting the continued development of its collection and its presentation to a wider audience.
